Hey There

How do we describe ourselves when we want to hide behind a curtain, when you're the fly on the wall, when much of the time, you are the curious one that wants to hear other's stories? I make an effort to reveal parts of myself, I know I need to in order to be vulnerable and expand my ability to show up for myself and others in life. I spent too many years quieting my vivaciousness and feral opinions from living in a home with emotionally immature, mentally ill and narcissistic parents.

 

Once I found my strength and courage, I was proud to show myself to the world. I found out that I wasn't "too much," that my sensitivity came from being emotionally and physically abused. I wasn't loved for who I was, I was loved for the way I stayed silent. The insatiable need to be seen and loved overwhelmed me. Depression, panic attacks, anxiety and health issues ruled my life, and though I have worked hard to heal my body and mind, some do persist. Through many years of therapy and education on the way humans act, I discovered what it means to be alive, for me.

Writing is of the utmost importance, expressing my inner world, creating poetry that releases the tight grip of emotional turmoil and frustrations, hand written letters to friends and loved ones, drawing and watercolor painting, 35mm and digital photography and singing are my modes of artistic transportation. I am transported into the veil, the liminal spaces that allow me to fully be present.

Don't let the fluffy, pretentious and profound words you just read fool you. I am the most silly, ridiculous, funny, dorky, nerdy, goofy and soft yet wild-hearted woman you may ever meet. ​
